Tonic water per 100ml 21.80 0.00 5.10 0.00

Full calorie tonic water has fewer calories than lemonade or orange juice and the diet or Slimline version is calorie free. Tonic was once used as a therapy against stomach problems and malaria because of its quinine content. However the quinine level is lower now and tonic water no longer has any medicinal effect.

Tortilla chips

Tortilla chips per 100g 459.00 7.60 60.10 22.60

Pros: Tortilla chips are made with maize and are generally lower in fat than standard potato crisps. Most are cooked in unsaturated (vegetable-based) oil, which makes them better for the heart than many brands of crisps. They have a relatively low glycaemic index so they won't play havoc with your blood sugar. Some brands contain real cheese, which means they are a source of calcium.

Cons: Most varieties contain artificial flavouring and flavour enhancer and are far too salty.
