Thyme
Thyme is a purifying herb, containing the essential oil, thymol, which is still used as a base for many antiseptics and mouthwashes. Thymol also helps in the breakdown of fats in the body. Herbalists recommend tea made from thyme leaves to soothe sore throats and thyme oil in a bath to ease rheumatic pain.

Pros: There is a lot of sugar and saturated fat in this pudding, although it does also contain some protein for muscles and tissues and calcium for strong bones. If you choose one containing naturally derived thickeners and emulsifiers, you can cut down on chemical additives.
Cons: As with all high-fat, high-sugar puddings it is important to go easy, particularly if you are watching your weight. Tiramasu is also likely to contain thickeners and emulsifiers. Sometimes it may also contain gelatin, making it unsuitable for vegetarians. See also cream.
