What can I eat for dry skin?

I know what you mean about cold weather and your skin, as I suffer too. But though you'll still always have a tendency to dryness regardless of your diet, ensuring yoo have a good level of basic nutrition will help.

To this end I'd suggest three main things you could do - make sure you get enough protein, include essential fats in your diet, and eat a diet rich in vitamin C, vitamin A and zinc.

Protein is the main building material for skin, so aim for two portions a day of lean meat, poultry, fish, tofu, quorn, or eggs. Essential fats are essential to the health of cell membranes, locking in moisture and providing flexibility and resilience to the skin, so you should eat oily fish, nuts, seeds, vegetables oils and avocados.

Vitamins A and C, together with zinc also all play important roles in maintaining the health of skin. If you're concerned your diet may not always be as healthy as it could be, I'd suggest you take a multivitamin daily to ensure you get enough.

Between them, these strategies should help to make your skin the best it can be for the winter.
