(HealthDay News) -- Here are the latest clinical trials, courtesy of CenterWatch:

Insomnia

This study will compare two self-help approaches to treat insomnia. Neither treatment involves use of medication. Volunteers between the ages of 18 and 65 who have problems sleeping that have lasted for at least six months, and who experience these problems at least three times per week for more than six months, may qualify. The research site is in Reston, Va.

Elevated Triglycerides

This is a clinical research study of an investigational combination of two FDA approved medications for lowering triglycerides. You may qualify if you have triglycerides above 500 and are 18 to 79 years of age. If you are unsure of your triglyceride levels, you can have them tested at no cost. The research site is in Lakewood, Wash.

(HealthDay News) -- It's only natural that parents of children with asthma worry about the condition flaring up.

But which symptoms actually warrant a trip to the emergency room? The Nemours Foundation says to keep your eyes peeled for these warning signs:

  • Your child's nails or face color turns blue or grayish.
  • Your child has trouble talking.
  • You can see the area between your child's ribs or base of the neck contract.
  • Your child's rescue medications aren't working to stop the flare-up.

If your child shows any of these signs, seek medical attention immediately.
