How yoga keeps you healthy and helps you lose weight
Geri Halliwell is famous for her devotion to the art of yoga which helped her shed an impressive two stone.
In her new video, Geri Yoga, she claims the ancient Indian technique is the key to a super fit body and well-balanced approach to life.
To show you the benefits of yoga, femail.co.uk have teamed up with Geri's yoga teacher, Katy Appleton, who has been teaching yoga for three years.

The sun exercise is a series of postures which draws on the principles of sivananda yoga - a style of yoga which comes under the umbrella term of hatha. Hatha, meaning physical yoga, falls into three main groups.
The first group sivananda - the principles of yoga which the video draws upon - is based on twelve classic yoga postures. The second group, ashtanga, is an active style of power yoga favoured by Madonna, Sting and Jane Fonda, while the final group, Iyengar is a slower form on yoga focusing on specific postures.
Converts who practise hatha yoga claim it strengthens the immune system, tones the body, calms the mind, boosts energy levels, aids weight loss, and is good for the heart, liver, kidney and digestive organs.
Unlike most other fitness regimes, Katy claims the results are instant. 'You should feel more energised, calm and stretched straight away.'
This is because, Katy explains, deep breathing brings oxygen to the lungs which calms down the mind. Yoga postures are designed to shift blood around the body which stimulates circulation and, in turn, energy. The simple, sometimes active, moves also massage the thyroid gland - the part of the body which regulates metabolism and, in turn, aids weight loss.
Anyone looking to tone their body and enhance their well-being can practise the sun exercise. It takes about five minutes to do - and can be performed in a small space. It can be practised in the morning or the evening - and is the perfect way to start the day - or unwind after work. You do not need any special equipment and the exercise should be performed on a yoga mat or towel.
Katy recommends three rounds (doing the exercise once on both your left and right foot) of sun exercise three times a week. An inhalation or exhalation should be taken for each movement.
The yoga plan is not suitable for pregnant women without medical supervision. Leave two hours after eating or consuming alcohol before performing any yoga exercise.
