Pros: Rose is made like red wine, except the skins of the black grapes which give the wine its colour are removed from the juice once the required shade of pink has been achieved. Even though the grape skins are removed at an earlier stage in production than in red wine however, rose wine still contains appreciable amounts of resveratrol, the natural chemical which has been found to block an enzyme which leads to the development of cancerous cells. Rose wine has many of the same qualities of red wine, as resveratrol is a flavonoid which helps reduce inflammation, reduce the risk of blood clots and prevent the "furring" of arteries.
Cons: Though drinking one to two glasses of wine five to six days a week is safe, over-indulgence leads to over-stimulation of the hormone adrenaline, causing the heart to beat faster, the lungs to take in more air, the liver to release extra glucose into the blood. If adrenaline is constantly over-produced because of alcohol, it may lead to general fatigue. Excessive drinking can also lead to increased cancer risk, weight gain and raised blood pressure. It also encourages platelets in the blood to become thicker, impeding its passage through the blood vessels.
