Cutting out wheat can be tricky when it forms such a core part of your diet.
But don't be discouraged, there are ways you can do it relatively painlessly!
As a quick taster you could choose wheat free muesli (e.g. Pertwod Organic), rice krispies or corn flakes for breakfast, or have a 'grill-up' of poached or boiled egg, lean grilled bacon and tomato.
For lunch you could swap your sandwich for a noodle, rice or bean salad, or you could persevere with those wheat-free breads.
In my experience the Stamp Collection Organic bread is probably one of the best on the market, available from bigger supermarkets, for taste and texture.
In the evening swap pasta for rice or go back to old fashioned potatoes - baked or boiled. But if you are eating processed foods or ready meals you will have to be careful about wheat or gluten hidden in the ingredient list.
Check carefully as if there's even a trace of wheat or gluten in your food you won't get a fair test of whether wheat is your problem or not.
If it turns out you are intolerant to wheat, avoiding it will make you feel better and leaving it out will start to become second nature.
However you'll have to make sure you include other whole grain foods in your diet as these are healthy sources of fibre that cut risk of bowel disease and cardio-vascular disease.
Good sources other than brown rice you can experiment with are buckwheat, millet, amaranth and quinoa. These are available from health food stores.
