I was wondering if I was wise to buy a condo during this period where the market is falling? -Chima
We all love bargains. But hey, if you're going to fish at the bottom of the pond, make sure you're at the bottom. Some County Board of Realtors put the price and sales stats online. You'll want to take a look at all of those numbers.

Remember, condos are more vulnerable to big price swings than any other type of housing. And in today's weakening housing market, that's may be a riskier bet than your willing to take on.

If you have an old refrigerator, the most energy efficient thing you can do is to replace it with a newer one. You could cut your utility bill by $100 a year. For some low-cost ways to save energy, you should keep your refrigerator away from heat sources, like stoves.

If you can, leave two to three inches clear around the back, sides and top of the fridge. You should also vacuum the coils behind or underneath refrigerator twice a year. Clean coils help the refrigerator run less and that can help it last longer.

Instead of trying to book your rental car through the company's Web site, try online travel sites like Orbitz.com and Travelocity. Then, grab those discounts.

Frequent-flier programs, credit cards, hotels, even your employer may have negotiated discounts. You may not have to buy rental insurance either. Talk to your own car insurance agent first to see if you are covered under your own insurance. You may also have coverage protection under your credit card. Some cards have protection for rental vehicles, but it does vary from each carrier.
