Enlarge picture, the company that apparently has no other goal than to develop super hardcore strategy games, has just announced that, together with IQ Software, it released the first official update for World War II: Road to Victory, bringing the game to the 1.201 version and adding a bunch of new features, as well as fixing issues reported by fans.
However, this update is not the last one, since the game developers have announced that they plan to bring us even more enhancements via updates. But until that happens, we should enjoy the highly improved enemy AI (especially when it comes to sea transporting), a PBEM support of up to 8 players, a new siege function and rule set for cities that are surrounded by enemy forces, the addition of Malta and other sea zones and many, many more you will certainly discover after updating your game.
David Heath, director of operations at Matrix Games, said, "The IQ Software team has been very responsive in working to improve the gameplay and overall experience in World War II: Road to Victory. This first update brings a healthy list of improvements and exciting new features but this is only the beginning!"
World War II: Road to Victory is the first release from IQ Software and it puts you at the helm of one (or even more, unlike any other strategy game!) Axis or Allied nations, including the minor nations, and challenges you to virtually fight the greatest war ever.
The game comes with a complex diplomacy system based on the so-called political points (which allow you to draw new allies to your side), a very detailed naval combat element and a deep micromanagement feature that concentrates on creating all sorts of buildings, training and upgrading troops and even developing nuclear weapons. A true war game where strategy is, after all, your only ally ? a quality title that just got even better!
