Chris Evans' ex-wife Carol McGiffin looked bleary-eyed as she and her colleagues laughed and joked about the previous night's shenanigans, with particular attention to her rowdy antics.

Holly was the model of elegance and decorum at last night's Royal Television Society awards. But sadly, the same could not be said for the elder stateswomen of ITV's flagship daytime show Loose Women, who ran wild, flashing bottoms, and flesh-coloured support underwear.

The women's raucous behaviour was on show at the annual awards show, which took place in a glamorous ceremony at London's Grosvenor House, attended by stars from ITV's The Bill, Holby City, and Coronation Street. Which may have prompted Carol and the rest of the girls to drown their sorrows. Other news from the awards saw top soap Coronation Street lose out to The Bill and BBC show Holby City in the Soap And Continuing Drama category.
Cult show The Mighty Boosh beat The Thick Of It and Peep Show in the Situation Comedy And Comedy Drama category, while Stephen Fry's quiz show QI won the Entertainment Award. Host Eamonn Holmes described the BBC2 show as a "great British programme, incredibly old-fashioned but definitely part of the zeitgeist". ITV had picked up just nine nominations for the awards, while the BBC and Channel Four had 64 between them. Scroll down for more...  Earlier in the evening, the other Loose Women, Colleen, Jacqui Brambles, Jayne McDonald and Andrea looked glamorous as they posed together   Speed freaks: James May and Richard Hammond of Top Gear which won an award last night James May and Richard Hammond collected the Features And Lifestyle Series award for Top Gear minus their presenter Jeremy Clarkson. May joked: "Actually Hammond and I were only here because we were told to be." But Hammond added: "We would like to say because it's a rare opportunity, thank you very much." Channel Four triumphed in the non-fiction category with Meet The Natives winning the Formatted Documentary Award, You're Not Splitting Up My Family taking the Observational Documentary prize and Come Dine With Me beating ITV's Loose Women to Best Daytime Programme. Andrew Marr walked away with two awards for Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain - for History programme - and Best Presenter. Matthew Macfadyen won the Best Actor gong for what judges described as a "compelling performance" in Secret Life. David Tennant, also nominated in the Best Actor category, lost out a second time when The Street beat BBC hit show Doctor Who to the coveted Best Series award. Scroll down for more...  Eye, eye: Geordie duo Ant and Dec catch up with pal Holly, but Dec seemed curiously distracted by Holly's glamorous dress  Sally Hawkins took the Best Actress Award for her role in ITV's adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion, while Channel 4's fictional examination of Muslim extremism, Britz, won Best Drama Serial. Meanwhile at least one half of Ant and Dec couldn't keep his eyes off Holly last night. Declan Donnelly was caught taking a sneaky peek at the TV presenter's... um... assets at the Royal Television Society awards. Holly, 27, said last night that she's keen to start a big family, adding: "I'm still young but I want to have 10 kids. One a year." Presumably she wants to have them with her husband Dan Baldwin.
 Bright-eyed: Holly Willoughby looked rather more bushy-tailed during an appearance on Alan Titchmarsh's talk show today Also at the awards were Mighty Boosh partners Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt, who seemed delighted with their gong for best comedy. In the comedy category, David Mitchell and Robert Webb were cheered enthusiastically when they stepped up to collect the prize for Comedy Performance for Peep Show, while Harry Hill scooped Best Entertainment Performance for Harry Hill's TV Burp. Harry was described by judges as a performer who "has masterfully moved his show from the edge to the heart of the schedule". Veteran nature presenter Sir David Attenborough was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award. Lorraine Heggessey, chair of the Programme Awards Committee, described Sir David as "the most trusted broadcaster in Britain," crediting him with raising awareness of the threat of climate change. Speaking in a pre-recorded video clip, he said: "When I joined the BBC 56 years ago there was only one professional television organisation in this country, I imagine in the world, and that of course was this one." He continued: If there is one award that one values in television, it is the first one, it is this one."
