Waspish What Not To Wear presenter Trinny Woodall may have earned £3.2m last year doling out fashion tips, but she seems determined to ignore her own commandments.

Leaving the Quintessentially gala banquet in aid of the Soil Association last night at Guildhall, her slender frame was almost drowned in a voluminous, Seventies style backless frock with billowing sleeves.

Along with her copresenter Susannah Constantine, Trinny, 44, designs her own fashion range for Littlewoods mail order and tirelessly champions well-fitting bras and control pants (the duo even produced their own Original Magic Knickers).

But the famously flat-chested Trinny has no need for either in this gown - not only is the scarlet dress anything but tight-fitting, it's also backless and slashed to the waist.

Trinny was one of a host of stars who attended the charity banquet, including Mick Jagger, L'Wren Scott, Trudie Styler, as well as Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum.

The event, which was masterminded by TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, featured a £1,000-a-head five-course meal made of ingredients all grown, plucked or fished from in and around London.

Trinny was fresh from a whirlwind promotional visit to Australia and New Zealand with Susannah.

During the trip, the What Not To Wear star revealed that they both struggle with their own body image.

She said: "We have body issues as well as everyone else and we are in our 40s. The point is to dress so that you never know."
